On Dec. 26 at 9:23 a.m., Anthony J. Dempsey, 50, of Braeburn Lane was found lying on the floor in a third-floor hallway with a bleeding leg at an apartment on Ferry Street. The report says his girlfriend, Beverly Morris, 42, of Ferry Street, said he was drunk and she wanted him out.
He was brought to Middlesex Hospital for treatment after two puncture wounds, an inch long, were found on his knee, the report says. Morris admitted she had stabbed him, police say, in self-defense as he was grabbing her hair and pushing her.
A six-inch Faberware knife was found on the table, the report says. A witness told police Dempsey was always drunk and had beaten Morris in the past, the report indicates.
Both were charged with violation of conditions of release and disorderly conduct; Morris additionally for second-degree assault.
