Middletown Police report the following incidents:

Jan. 3

FOURTH-DEGREE LARCENY, FRAUDULENT USE OF ATM, THIRD-DEGREE FORGERY — At 3:20 a.m., Maria Manrique, 51, of Church Street, Hartford, was picked up in Hartford by police on an outstanding Middletown warrant. 

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF — Police were called to a disturbance on Woodbury Circle in which Mitchell A. Wynn, 33, of Pine Street had showed up at his brother's home and broken a window, the report says. Police say the brothers were comforting a 14-year-old girl whose mother had passed away the day before and Wynn, who views himself as her stepfather, came to take him to live with her. The report says Wynn raised the girl has his until she was two, thinking she was his biological daughter. The report says the girl wanted to stay with her uncle until the next day when she'd go to Vernon to live with her stepfather, and as Wynn, who admitted to breaking the window, was outside, the uncle was "egging him on from inside," saying it was cold outside.

FAILURE TO RESPOND — At 11:19 p.m., police saw Kirk Dozier, 41, of Russett Lane walking on Grand Street, knowing he had an outstanding warrant. 

FIRST-DEGREE CRIMINAL TRESPASS — At 12:58 p.m., police were called to an apartment on Washington Street about an unwanted person, Tyrone D. Woodson, 36, of Prospect Street or Magnolia Street, Hartford. The report says he had an outstanding warrant. When officers knocked on the door, the report says, a woman denied anyone was there, but they saw Woodson walk out of a bedroom and also found Willie Woodson, 40, of Harrie Tubman Court, Hartford, who was not supposed to be on the premises. Both were charged. 

SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 1:30 p.m., Haroold L. Gargiulio, 34, of Forest Street, West Haven, turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

FOURTH-DEGREE LARCENY — At 4 a.m., Nicholas Doty, 29, of Tremont Street, New Britain, was picked up at West Hartford Police on an outstanding Middletown warrant.

FAILURE TO CARRY CERTIFICATE OF INSURANCE, TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS, DUI, FAILURE TO DRIVE UPON THE RIGHT — At 9:13 p.m., James W. Cutter, 33, of no certain address was involved in an accident on Washington Street near Veteran's Way, after losing control on the snow-covered road and hitting a police cruiser, the report says. Police say he smelled of alcohol and admitted he was coming from a wedding where he had two drinks. He failed sobriety and breathalyzer tests, the report says, and his passenger and the police officer were taken to Middlesex Hospital for injuries.

NARCOTICS NOT KEPT IN ORIGINAL CONTAINER, NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUG PARAPHERNALIA NEAR SCHOOL — At 5:46 p.m., Gregory R. Carlson, 26, of Shelly Street, Cromwell, was found unconscious at the Middletown Area Transit bus terminal and sent to Middlesex Hospital, the report says. At the emergency room, he became very aggressive toward security officers, the report says, and was found with two hypodermic needles and four pills in his pocket. Police say Carlson admitted to a two-bag-a-day heroin habit and the pills were 800 mg of Motrin.
