To the Editor:
Acting Capt. Michael Timbro was selected to be the new Deputy Chief of Police with the Middletown Police Department by Middletown Mayor Daniel T. Drew.
Apparently, there was a press conference at the police department and Councilwoman Deb Kleckowski is one of the people on the personnel review committee, and said there wasn't enough time to view Timbro's qualifications before the personnel review committe meeting that was held at 7 p.m.
My personal opinion on this whole thing is that it is preventing people from getting business done, as Mayor Drew said. The police department needs to move forward.
Let's get Acting Capt. Timbro [confirmed as] the new deputy chief of police with the Middletown Police Department. He is the right choice.
Also, the captain of the adminstrative division is a highly dedicated officer. I feel that he is more capable than anyone else to be the deputy chief. Timbro spent some of his time as a patrol detective. He is a good cop with the passion to help people who need his assistance.
That's why I'm supporting his appointment as the new deputy chief.
