This week's Economic Development Committee approved several projects in the city, including two jobs programs and the funding to demolish a rundown home in the North End, according to a story on the Middletown Eye blog.
It unanimously approved a resolution to fast-track the demolition and City Planning Director Bill Warner said he would request a $30,000 appropriation to begin work at 30 Portland Street, the Eye reports.
Jeff Pugliese of the Middlesex County Chamber of Commerce asked for continued funding for the Worker Preparation Program and the summer employment program, Youth @ Work.
The Eye reports ECD unanimously approved $7,500 for former and approved a resolution to recommend that Mayor Drew propose $30,000 for the latter in his budget.
