Our city was in the limelight mid-month when the article, "Violence and Mental Illness in Middletown, Connecticut," by Lindsay Abrams, an editorial fellow with The Atlantic Health channel, was published on Jan. 14.
Abrams, who was on campus when the murder of Johanna Justin Jinich took place and subsequent trial of Stephen Morgan, later found innocent by reason of insanity, details the city's uneasy relationship with the its legacy of the mentally ill and violence, homelessness and crime.
