Middletown Police report the following incidents:
Feb. 25
FIRST-DEGREE AND TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — John E. Jones, 50, of Windsor Avenue, Meriden, turned himself in on three outstanding warrants, two from Middletown and one from Newington.
Feb. 24
DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Police were called to an apartment on Main Street after two roommates were involved in a fight. Morgan Poulin, 21, of Town Colony Drive, said she and Jacqueline Lockwood, 22, of Town Colony Drive fought over household chores, the report says, and Lockwood threw Poulin on the ground and hit her. Poulin said she scratched Lockwood and bit her arm. Both were charged.
Feb. 23
TWO COUNTS SECOND-DEGREE FAILURE TO APPEAR — At 7:30 a.m., Mariel V. Hautman, 21, of Hillside Avenue was arrested at home on an outstanding warrant.
POSSESSION CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE, USE OF DRUG PARAPHERNALIA — At 7:15 a.m., police went to the home of Joshua A. Warren, 24, of Town Colony Drive on the report he had taken $470 from a visitor in his apartment, according to the report. The victim told officers he had taken his pants off, left them in the bedroom with cash in them, and it disappeared but he was uncertain who took it. Once police arrived, the found Warren in a bedroom with three crack pipes, a used hypodermic needle, copper wire mesh and rock-like substance in a small baggie, the report indicates. Warren admitted it was all his, police say. A woman was found hiding in the closet who had two outstanding warrants.
Feb. 22
At 6:43 p.m., Michael S. Samuels, 22, of Ballfall Road was driving a Pontiac Grand Am on East Street and found with an outstanding warrant. Once stopped, the officer smelled marijuana in the car and found Samuels with baggies of marijuana (totaling 17.1 grams) stuffed into his pants and gloves inside his hat, according to the report.
He was charged with third-degree burglary, fourth-degree larceny, conspiracy to commit third-degree burglary and fourth-degree larceny, and possession of less than 4 ounces marijuana.
Feb. 19
BREACH OF PEACE — Police were called by a victim who said his neighbor was calling him names and threatened to fight him in the parking lot after he allegedly went inside his apartment to get a "45," according to the report. Police say Joseph LaPointe, 29, of Saybrook Road yelled at the neighbor to keep the noise down then accused him of dealing drugs. LaPointe admitted to police he had done so.
Feb. 11
DISORDERLY CONDUCT — Police were called to a home on South Main Street about an assault in which Charlie E. Tyler Jr., 44, of Yellow Wood Street allegedly shoved and struck a victim in the side of the head several times, according to the police report. Tyler was sitting inside a parked SUV in the driveway where the victim was blowing snow, police say, and asked Tyler to move his car so he could complete the work but he refused. The report says the victim turned the snowblower around and his right elbow brushed against the left headlight of Tyler's car, the report says, so he pushed the victim into the snow bank and punched him in the side of the head.
