Middletown Police report the following incident:
CARRYING DANGEROUS WEAPON, SECOND-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, INTERFERING WITH OFFICER, ASSAULT PUBLIC SAFETY OFFICER, BREACH OF PEACE — On Aug. 29 at 8:03 p.m., police were called to a home on Sisk Street about a fight between a man and his grandmother. An arriving officer saw Dana Sweeney, 22, of Sisk Street run into the woods, the report says, and pursued him, they struggled and Sweeney hit the officer several times in the stomach and cut his arm. He was found with a 4-inch pocket knife, the report says and an ankle bracelet. The grandmother told police she came home to Sweeney "highly intoxicated," and he got irate when she questioned him, "stormed out" of the home and threw around her $500 lawn furniture, the report indicates.
OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, IMPROPER USE MARKER PLATE — On Aug. 16, police patrolling Main and Washington streets saw Manzur Mannan, 57, of Freeman Road driving a Honda CRV with a plate registered to a Honda Odyssey station wagon. The report says Mannan admitted to changing the plate because it wasn't registered due to a needed $600 exhaust repair.
