Middletown Police report the following arrests:

NON-STUDENT POSSESSING DRUGS NEAR SCHOOL — On Sept. 30 at 12:23 p.m., Cary Hawkins, 54, of no certain address was seen by police sitting on the front steps of 630 Main Street with no trespassing signs and had been told numerous times by officers not to sit there. She said she had forgotten, the report says. She is known to police as an illegal narcotics user and was found with a crack pipe in her purse with burnt residue, the report indicates.

TRAVELING TOO FAST FOR CONDITIONS, DUI, FAILURE TO GRANT RIGHT OF WAY, OPERATION MOTORCYCLE WITHOUT MOTORCYCLE LICENSE — On Sept. 29, Ryan P. Foell, 29, of Bartholomew Road turned himself in on an outstanding warrant.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS, INTERFERING WITH AN OFFICER — On Sept. 27 at 6:42 p.m., police were sent on a well-being check at Broos and Bear Hill roads after police say a man sitting on a scooter on the side of the road in the dark. It was parked 20 feet off a dirt road, the report says, and as officers walked a quarter-mile into the woods, they heard the voices of Alexander Nicholas Mason, 69, of LaBella Circle and a woman coming from a tent. Mason angrily told officers to shut off their flashlights, the report says, and shined a high-intensity halogen flashlight in their eyes, blinding them, yelling, "There! How do you like it?" Police tackled him after he resisted and he said, "get off of me I just [defecated] myself." Mason told officers he had every right to camp in his property, and police showed him "no trespassing" state signs that were posted. Back at headquarters, the report says, Mason changed into a paper suit to clean up and was given a form, on which he wrote, "read quickly," so "the court would then say we did not give him enough time to properly understand his rights. The court would then throw out his case."

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Sept. 27 at 12:15 p.m., Wayne M. Roget, 46, of Cubeta Road was at Traverse Square when officers were called about a domestic disturbance. The report says Roget was found at South Main and Pleasant streets.

SIXTH-DEGREE LARCENY — On Sept. 26 at 10:45 a.m., Nelson Emilio Garcia-Rawlins, 21, of Saybrook Road was at Bob's Stores where store security saw him enter the footwear department and take a pair of Nike shoes, put his old shoes in the box and walk out wearing the news ones, the report says, after making a small purchase.

THIRD-DEGREE CRIMINAL MISCHIEF, DISORDERLY CONDUCT — On Sept. 25, Dale V. Decker, 49, of Saybrook Road was a patient at Middlesex Hospital undergoing detoxification after, the report says, an outburst earlier in the day in which he ripped a phone off the wall, causing $350 in damage. When a patient care technician helped him to the bathroom, the report says, he grabbed her by the wrists and wrapped his legs around her and began to yell, necessitating staff to pry him off.

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE, ILLEGAL OPERATION UNDER SUSPENSION — On Sept. 20, police were checking cars at South Main and Union streets and stopped a car driven by Carla Palmer, 42, of Thimble Rock Road

OPERATE UNREGISTERED VEHICLE AND WHEN LICENSE IS SUSPENDED — On Sept. 16 at 9:49 p.m., Shawn D. Howell, 22, of Kane Street, West Hartford, was seen by police driving on Route 66 near 590 Washington Street and was stopped for a routine check, the report says. His license was suspended, police say and Howell said he may have an unpaid ticket.
