A 39-year-old city man is charged with disorderly conduct after Middletown Police say he relieved himself upon the doorstep of his neighbor whom he dislikes.
On Oct. 16 at 1:06 a.m., police were called to a home on Prospect Street about a neighbor relieving himself on the back door of a victim's apartment. Responding officers were told that police had been called to the same address several hours before, the report says, with a complaint about his downstairs neighbor Daniel T. Newell, 39, of Prospect Street banging on the door and yelling.
The victim told officers he was in the kitchen when he heard the sound of "trickling water" and saw liquid pouring in from under the back door, the report indicates, opened the door and saw Newell urinating on the floor and door.
When officers arrived, the report says, they found Newell in his boxers and fluids on the carpet and rear door to the victim's apartment and he appeared intoxicated. Police say he admitted to knocking on the door and to not liking the victim because "he doesn't pay his rent," and his cousin owns the property.
The report says Newell told police the urine could belong to a dog or him.
He was charged with disorderly conduct.
