Chris Murphy greets constituents at Ford News Diner in Middletown Monday, hosted by Mayor Dan Drew.

Just one day before the election, Democratic Senate candidate candidate Chris Murphy visited Middletown for the second time in two days — this time at the tiny Ford News Diner on Main Street.

Mayor Dan Drew greeted Murphy outside, where the air was crisp and brisk. State Rep. Matthew Lesser, Water and Sewer Director Guy Russo, William Corvo of Kleen Energy and a host of others were among 25 or so gathered inside the eatery.

Murphy has been on the go since well before 5:45 a.m. Monday, when he met workers at Sikorsky, then voters at Metro North Fairfield Station, and firefighters at the Bridgeport Fire House.

Sen. Blumenthal and Drew accompanied Murphy to Main Street Market, to meet patrons and shop goers before resuming the rest of his day's busy schedule.

At 1 p.m., he's on to Union Station, Hartford, for the Connecticut GOTV Event – Final Contrast; then greeting workers at Pratt & Whitney at 2:30 p.m., in East Hartford; and finally the Bristol Democratic Town Committee Headquarters at 6:50 p.m.
