Middletown, Connecticut, Police

A 33-year-old city woman, infuriated that her ex-husband allowed his girlfriend to take her three young girls for a manicure, physically assaulted him, according to Middletown Police.

On Nov. 4 at 5:29 p.m., a man walked into police headquarters saying he had been assaulted by his ex-wife, Karla Pawlowicz, 33, of Inverness Lane, at 5:05 p.m. after he returned their three children, ages, 2, 5 and 8, the report says, to her home.

Each girl showed their mother their freshly manicured fingernails, the report says, and Pawlowicz asked who did it, with the girls responding the father's girlfriend, at a place in Cromwell.

Police say she became very angry, walked toward his truck and threw a cell phone at his head, but missed. When their father got into the car to leave, the report says, Pawlowicz threw a shopping bag full of garbage at him into the cab. She then threw the cell phone again, this time hitting him in the face above his eye, the report says.

Later, Pawlowicz denied hitting her ex-husband, and police informed the state Department of Children and Families about the incident, the report says.

She was charged with disorderly conduct and third-degree assault.
