You'd think the kids would be grateful for a day off of school on Election Day. Well, they were, but the refrain here in my house, as nightfall came, was, "you know, my teacher said there won't be school tomorrow."
There's a Nor'easter coming. Well, it's here. And thick wet snowflakes are blanketing the branches of the giant oak tree outside my window and every other surface on our street. St. John's Church bells ringing a lovely tune are especially pretty in the silence the snow has brought.
