President Barack Obama came to Connecticut Monday evening for a pair of quick fundraising visits with supporters and wealthy donors.
The president first went to a $500-per-ticket reception at the Stamford Marriott, followed by a $35,800-a-head dinner at the Westport home of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. The money will go straight to Obama’s 2012 presidential campaign.
Obama is trailing Romney in fundraising, both nationally and in Connecticut. The president’s campaign has raised $2.8 million versus Romney’s campaign raising $4.8 million.
All this talk about money has got us asking: would you pay $500 to see a presidential candidate speak, whether it be Obama or Romney? Take our poll and share your thoughts in the comments.
